Snubbing

Snubbing is the act of putting pipe or tubular into a well that is under wellbore pressure. In ordinary stripping operations, the pipe falls into the wellbore under its own weight with gravity and no additional downward force or pushing is required. Well intervention techniques in live wells require CWC's rig assist or stand-alone snubbing units which are designed to apply the necessary forces while supporting the pipe or tubing and safely containing wellbore pressure and fluids.

CWC's fleet is comprised of 7 snubbing units:

  • 1 Rig Assist unit (3,000 psi)
  • 4 Rig Assist units (5,000 psi)
  • 2 Stand Alone units (5,000 psi)

5000 psi Rig Assist (75K)
5000 psi Rig Assist (120K)
5000 psi Stand Alone
